Description
Lorna Medcalf was attracted to Intermountain Health because of her love of education and as an opportunity to apply what she’s learned in her APRN fellowship. She also shares the company’s principles of helping patients live the healthiest lives possible. Her nine years of experience as an emergency room RN includes practice in rural communities and large cities. She has treated traumas, code blues, chronic disease exacerbations, acute disease processes, and an ethnically diverse patient population. She was promoted to charge nurse where she developed management skills and her knowledge of chronic disease medications and care was expanded. Lorna realized she wanted to be a provider when she discovered her limits as an RN. Becoming an FNP allowed her to complete all aspects of patient care from start to finish. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Touro University in Henderson and has won a Hero Award and multiple Daisy Awards for excellence in nursing.
