Description
Colleen Bruhn comes from a long line of nurses—both her grandmother and great-grandmother were in the profession. She sees her work as part of that legacy, continuing a family tradition of compassionate, high-quality care. Colleen embraces Intermountain Health’s vision of patient-centered, comprehensive care and finds deep fulfillment in forming lasting relationships with her patients through her work in senior care. Colleen began her healthcare journey as a registered nurse before advancing her training to become a family nurse practitioner, allowing her to support patients more fully throughout their health journey. She is highly skilled in conducting physical exams, educating patients on disease prevention, and guiding the safe and effective use of medications. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Olivet Nazarene University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Francis. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. An active member of the professional nursing community, Colleen is involved with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American Nurses Association. Her experience includes service on an Acute Stroke Team and speaking engagements at several nursing conferences. Outside of work, Colleen enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband, their young son, and their dog.
