Description
Renee del Carmen, MD, joined Intermountain Health drawn by its strong focus on quality care, preventive medicine, and overall wellness. She believes in the power of a team-based approach to deliver the best possible outcomes and values the meaningful relationships she builds with both her patients and colleagues. Prior to joining Intermountain Health, Dr. del Carmen gained diverse clinical experience as a physician assistant in Hawaii and as a physician observer in Bellflower, California. She also completed a junior internship in emergency care at Harvard Medical School. Passionate about service, Dr. del Carmen has been involved in a variety of humanitarian efforts. She has provided low-cost medical care to underserved families and individuals experiencing homelessness, and participated in medical and surgical missions to aid victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines. Dr. del Carmen earned her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with minors in Psychology and Chemistry, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. In her spare time, Dr. Del Carmen enjoys trying new recipes and staying active at the gym.
