Description
Dr. Elbert Xu was attracted to Intermountain Health because his vision and philosophy of patient-centered healthcare is aligned with ours. He also appreciates the fact that here he is allowed adequate time with patients to provide them with counseling. He also enjoys the comfortable work/life balance he has found at Intermountain Health. When Dr. Xu moved to the US, he barely spoke English. His step-father is a physician recruiter for the VA. He became interested in medicine in college and his AF career served as a confirmation for this passion. Dr. Xu served in the US Air Force as a respiratory therapist and cardiopulmonary technician. This was in between earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Forensic Science from Purdue University and later earning his medical degree from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his residency at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Xu is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
